‘Echoes’ - A Transatlantic Dialogue of Art
Opening Reception: July 10th, 6-9 PM
133 Rye Lane, Peckham SE15 4ST, United Kingdom
Dates: July 10th - 17th, 2024
Wönzimer Gallery, in collaboration with OHSH Projects, is proud to announce ‘Echoes’ a transatlantic group exhibition set to open in London. Following the success of ‘Taste’ in Los Angeles, ‘Echoes' furthers the dialogue between contemporary artists from Los Angeles and London, providing a lens into cross-cultural exchange and artistic collaboration.
‘Echoes’ will feature a dynamic mix of drawings, paintings, and sculpture work, showcasing 5 artists from Los Angeles alongside 10 artists from London. This exhibition aims to explore the resonances and contrasts between the artistic practices of two vibrant cities, both marked by their own unique socio-political landscapes yet united by the universal language of art.
The artists presented in "Echoes" have navigated through significant socioeconomic challenges, both in the United States and the United Kingdom. As the world grapples with ongoing political and economic turmoil, art remains a vital means of expression and resilience. This exhibition highlights how periods of hardship can inspire innovative and thought-provoking art.
